I am glad that you decided at some point in life to share your thoughs. Regarding this particular post, I would say society have trained us for a very long time to do and to be productive. Just the phrase “doing nothing” have its roots on productivity. But the moment you defy that “true” about productivity, about what “doing nothing” really means you get to that point where you start understanding the path of the being and not so much of the doing. I remember you as a guy that had things figured out, back then, I guess we never really talked about it, maybe i wasnt ready for these kind of talks, but I remember you as a friendly, kind and open hearted man. I remember your lovely family, the time spent with the dogs, our walks to the nature, the beach. I remember those days, as the very beginning of a person within me that understand that life is now, every single moment, that as long as I love life, life will love me back. And I always remember you, as an important part of that realisation. I am happy that you take the time to enjoy your kids, the park, time with your wife. To stop and listen to yourself in a world that keeps comparing us to others. Thats the ultimate revolution. Hanging out here, in the present moment.

This quote inspired me to focus on the emotional impact of how I treat others and de-emphasize productivity or efficiency.
If I didn't have to care about productivity (a requirement to survive in this capitalistic system), I would read and garden and make art all the time!
I never expected how much I would change after becoming a dad, yet I am still trying to understand how much I have changed really, and recognizing the fact that I am still changing as my kids grow. what is the biggest lessons/takeaways for you when you approach the idea of productivity? I can feel you are attentive with so much care in people's feeling too. and what a great idea to be productive at reading, taking care of our garden, and just create ourselves through art!
I try to break away from the concept of productivity (à la capitalism) and follow my natural rhythm as closely as possible, as I had been burnt out too many time trying to get on the productivity train. That's my takeaway.
